For over 50 years, Uganda has endured numerous challenges, with dictatorships being among the most prominent. Each regime has seemingly competed to surpass its predecessors in violence, looting, and plunder. Throughout this period, our nation has never experienced a peaceful transfer of power from one government to the next. Currently, Uganda finds itself under the grip of a military dictatorship that has crippled its economy through rampant corruption, patronage, exorbitant costs of doing business, and an inefficiently expensive public administration. The healthcare system is failing, and the education system is in disarray. These examples represent only a fraction of the deep-seated issues that the National Unity Platform is committed to addressing and resolving.
